Gordon, who died in 1996, was born and raised as the son of Indian traders in the Southwest, Con and Ruth (Reid) Shillingburg. He and Jean (Smith) had three sons, Robert Gordon, Charles Lester, and Bartley Thomas who all live in the Pheonix, Arizona area.
Don was also raised as the son of Indian traders in the Southwest, Donald Metzger and Arlene (Weedman) Shillingburg. He divides his time between Denver, Colorado and Phoenix, Arizona. Don's brother Ed, an attorney, resides on Shelter Island in New York State. Don and his wife Ann (Giesel) have five children, Donald Mark, Diane Marie, Conrad Joseph, Craig Paul, and John Carl. Except for Diane who resides in San Jose, California, the children all reside in the Denver, Colorado area.
John, Gordon, and Don are all the grandsons of Thomas Edward and Evelyn "Lina" (Chisholm) Shillingburg of Gormania, West Virginia, who was the son of John William and Sarah (Moomau) Shillingburg of Gormania, who was the son of Jacob and Mary "Polly" Sollars Shillingburg of Mt. Storm, West Virginia, who was the some of William H. and Maggie (Murphy) Shillingburg who had settled in Mt. Storm by 1794.
